Stuttgart, January 29, 2007: Business Media China AG (ISIN DE0005250401,
German Securities Code 525 040), a specialist for media and marketing in
China, has just secured a cooperation agreement with the mobile
telecommunications provider Beijing Mobile, a subsidiary of the world’s
largest mobile telecommunications provider China Mobile. Its entire
advertising budget of around EUR 1 million has thus been awarded to
Business Media China AG (BMC AG). BMC AG specializes in train station
advertising, and it will install innovative illuminated advertising boards
and columns in the high-traffic Beijing Central Railway Station and Beijing
West Railway Station. This type of advertising has never been seen before
in China and aims to generate a massive increase in awareness for Beijing
Mobile.
BMC AG obtained exclusive advertising rights for four Chinese train
stations in 2006. The agreement includes the right to adapt all of the
existing advertising space and select building components to the respective
customer's corporate identity. As a result, BMC AG already enjoyed
convincing performance with a smaller campaign for Beijing Mobile last
year. The mobile communications provider Beijing Mobile has now invested
around EUR 1.0 million in railway station advertising, including the
current order. BMC AG can now directly market the advertising space
recently acquired as a result of this extensive order it has just obtained.
'We are proud to be able to expand our business with Beijing Mobile – a
high prestige account,' commented Klaus Michael Hilligardt, BMC AG’s CEO,
on winning the order. He added: 'Our new, state-of-the-art advertising
generates enormous attention from both end customers as well as other
advertisers in China. That BMC AG is able to successfully differentiate
itself from the competition via our Total China Media Competence strategy.'
At present, BMC uses around 50% of the available advertising space in the
four railway stations. Modernizing all of the advertising boards and
banners aims to develop a total of 3,000 units offering more than 20,000m²
of advertising space in the four stations in the near future. The aim is to
be able to better serve the increasing demand from media and industrial
companies in future.
