Ad hoc release – KWS SAAT AG reports sales and income above expectations
for fiscal 2006/2007.

Einbeck, September 6, 2007 – The financial statements being prepared by KWS
SAAT AG (ISIN: DE0007074007) for fiscal year 2006/2007, which ended on June
30, 2007, indicate that the KWS Group will post a sales volume of almost
€540 million (previous year: €505 million). As far as can be seen at
present, operating income (EBIT) will exceed the previous year’s figure
(€46.7 million) by approximately 35%; the same applies to the KWS Group’s
net income (previous year: €28.4 million).

A key reason for this is that seed returns were lower than normal for the
sector – in particular in the U.S. As a result, and despite the weak
exchange rate for the dollar, the Group’s earnings situation is better than
had been expected in May. The financial statements for KWS SAAT AG and the
KWS Group will be published on October 31, 2007.
