China Mining 2008: Asia’s Premier Mining Event with High Growth Rates
Stuttgart/Beijing, November 19, 2008. From November 11-13, 2008, the China
Mining Congress and Expo, which was hosted by China’s Ministry of Land and
Resources and organised by BMC-TBG, was successfully held at the Beijing
International Convention Center.
With 245 exhibitors on 6,200 sqm (a 32% increase compared to 2007) and
almost 3,400 conference delegates (13% more than in 2007), the event proved
again to be the most important meeting point of the mining industry in
Asia. 54% international exhibitors and 41% delegates from abroad underlined
that the China Mining has become a globally recognised event.
Highlights of the exhibition were the international pavilions from Canada,
Australia, and South Africa as well as an enlarged equipment show in front
of the Convention Center. The China Mining is sponsored by major players of
the Chinese and international mining industry such as CHALCO, China Gold,
the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, and the Bank of China. Moreover, it
receives strong support from the World Bank Group.
The China Mining Congress gave deep insights into current policies,
regulations, and projects of the Chinese mining industry. Participants
included domestic and international mining associations as well as CEOs and
executives from all areas of the mining sector, technical experts, service
providers, stock exchanges operators, and investors.
According to Mr. Eike Scholl, General Manager Exhibitions & Conferences of
Business Media China AG, 'the China Mining has established itself as a
must-attend event of the global mining industry.' He underlined, that 'the
fruitful cooperation with Chinese government institutions and BMC as an
internationally renowned exhibition and conference organiser will be
continued in the future in order to further develop the exchange on mining
issues between China and the rest of the world.'
