A.S. Création reports weak earnings for Q3 2011

In the nine-month period from January 1, 2011 to September 30, 2011, A.S.
Création Tapeten AG, Europe's leading wallpaper manufacturer, generated
consolidated sales of EUR 146.6 million (2010: EUR 138.5 million) and a net
profit of EUR 4.6 million (2010: EUR 6.7 million). The Managing Board of
A.S. Création Tapeten AG today approved the interim report on the period
ended September 30, 2011.

At the present stage, the Managing Board assumes that consolidated sales in
the full year 2011 will be in line with plans, i.e. between EUR 195 million
and EUR 205 million.

With regard to earnings, the Managing Board assumes, however, that net
profit for the full year 2011 will fall short of the projected and
communicated range of EUR 6.5 million to EUR 7.5 million, as the
performance in the third quarter was much poorer than expected. The
unsatisfactory earnings position is primarily attributable to the sharp
rise in commodity and energy costs, which A.S. Création has so far been
unable to offset through increased sales prices. This is reflected in the
lower gross profit margin, which stands at 46.0% in the current fiscal
year, down 2.7 percentage points on the previous year's 48.7%.
