SPORTTOTAL AG: Samsung and sporttotal.tv enter into Smart TV partnership, the first of its kind
– As from the summer, sporttotal.tv will be integrated into the Samsung SPORTWORLD of all Smart TVs
– For the clubs, this means much greater coverage of their sport events
– sporttotal.tv delivers exclusive amateur sports content
Cologne, May 9 th , 2019 . In future, amateur sport will be available on all Samsung Smart TVs, ensured by the new partnership between Samsung and sporttotal.tv. sporttotal.tv, Germany’s leading sports streaming and video-on-demand platform and a wholly-owned subsidiary of SPORTTOTAL AG, will be able to broadcast its content on Samsung Smart TVs at the start of the 2019/2020 season. Under the long-term partnership with Samsung, sporttotal.tv will be contributing all amateur sports content to Samsung SPORTWORLD in future.
Making the dream of amateur sports people and fans come true
Along with amateur football, starting with the regional leagues, field hockey, basketball, ice hockey, futsal and the games of the men and women’s Volleyball Bundesliga are some of the sports that sporttotal.tv will be broadcasting on Samsung SPORTWORLD right from the start. At the same time, Samsung Smart will become sporttotal.tv’s Smart TV partner. Smart TVs have firmly established themselves as the global standard. The global share of Smart TV revenues in the first half of 2018 came in at 85%, and in Germany this was even 91% (source: GfK). “We are delighted to make a dream come true for many sports people and fans with the Smart TV market leader. Samsung and sporttotal.tv are taking amateur sports into the home on the Smart TV. We have ultimately widened the coverage immensely for our partner clubs,” emphasizes Peter Lauterbach, CEO of SPORTTOTAL AG. “sporttotal.tv is exciting addition to the Samsung SPORTWORLD. We are now able to offer sports fans especially easy access to the growing offering of linear and non-linear sports content. Samsung SPORTWORLD gives sports fans an overview
With Samsung SPORTWORLD, fans have an overview of the wide range of options both from linear TV and live streaming providers. Thanks to the new Electronic Program Guide (EPG), viewers do not have far to look to find out which game is being played where. Samsung has used one single app to create an readily accessible Smart TV experience for sports fans. SPORTWORLD can be set up easily using the Smart Hub of 2019 generation Samsung TVs. The app will be available via an update for people who have an older model dating from 2015.
