Description

Picard Medical, Inc. is a medical technology company that operates through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SynCardia Systems, LLC. SynCardia develops, manufactures, and commercializes the SynCardia Total Artificial Heart (STAH), a device intended as a bridge to transplantation for patients with end-stage biventricular heart failure. The STAH is the only total artificial heart commercially available that is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Health Canada. With a clinical history spanning over three decades and more than 2,100 implants, the device is available in 70 cc and 50 cc sizes. It is supported by portable driver systems that allow patients to be discharged from the hospital while awaiting a donor heart. The company is also developing the Emperor System, a next-generation, fully implantable total artificial heart.
