About this index

The UX Index is a benchmark stock market index that tracks the performance of the most liquid and highly capitalized stocks traded on the Ukrainian Exchange (UX). The Ukrainian Exchange was established in 2008 as a merger between three existing stock exchanges in Ukraine, and officially opened for trading in March 2009 with over 80 of the most liquid Ukrainian stocks . The UX Index was launched in April 2009, shortly after the official opening of the exchange, and is calculated based on the total market capitalization of the stocks included in the index, with free-float coefficients. The UX Index provides a useful measure of the overall performance of the Ukrainian stock market, and is closely watched by investors and financial analysts interested in the Ukrainian economy and financial system.
