Der Konzernabschluss der Biofrontera AG für das Geschäftsjahr vom 01. Januar 2022 bis zum 31. Dezember 2022 wurde nach den am Abschlussstichtag gültigen und von der Europäischen Union (EU) anerkannten International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) des International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) und den Interpretationen des International Financial Reporting Standards Interpretations Committee (IFRS IC) erstellt. Ergänzend sind die nach § 315e Abs.1 HGB anzuwendenden handelsrechtlichen Vorschriften beachtet worden.

Seit dem Initial Public Offering (IPO) der Biofrontera Inc. mit Sitz in Woburn, Massachusetts, USA, im dritten Quartal 2021 hat sich die Beteiligung der Biofrontera AG an der Biofrontera Inc. verringert, bis die Beherrschungskriterien des IFRS 10 nicht mehr erfüllt waren und die Biofrontera Inc. nicht mehr als Tochterunternehmen der Biofrontera AG angesehen wird. Dementsprechend erfolgte im Vorjahr die Entkonsolidierung und die Beteiligung zum Stichtag wird nach der At-Equity-Methode unter Beteiligungen an assoziierten Unternehmen ausgewiesen.

Als Kapital wird das nach IFRS ermittelte Konzerneigenkapital gemanagt. Das Kapitalmanagement der Gesellschaft überprüft regelmäßig die Ausstattung des Konzerns mit Eigenkapital und Liquidität. Ziel ist die angemessene Finanzierung im Rahmen der Erwartungen des Kapitalmarktes und die Sicherstellung der Kreditwürdigkeit gegenüber den nationalen und internationalen Geschäftspartnern, um den Geschäftsbetrieb der Gruppe für mindestens 12 Monate zu sichern. Der Vorstand der Gesellschaft stellt sicher, dass allen Konzernunternehmen ausreichendes Kapital in Form von Eigen- und Fremdkapital zur Verfügung steht, dabei wird ein Konzerneigenkapital von mindestens 20% der Bilanzsumme angestrebt.
