Zumtobel Group AG: Preliminary half-year results for the 2022/23 financial year due to strong 2nd quarter significantly above expectations Adjustment of outlook for the 2022/23 financial year

Dornbirn (pta042/10.11.2022/21:30) - Zumtobel Group AG publishes the following preliminary figures for the first half of 2022/23 (1 May 2022 – 31 October 2022):

At EUR 627.8 million (H1 2021/22: EUR 567.4 million), revenues were 10.6% above the prior year period. The Zumtobel Group EBIT totalled EUR 50.8 million, which represents an EBIT margin of 8.1% (H1 2021/22: EUR 35.0 million; EBIT margin 6.2%). This development resulted above all – besides a better availability of components and, in part, higher sales volumes – from higher selling prices and positive FX effects. Furthermore, the net profit for the period increased by 46.8% to EUR 33.7 million (H1 2021/22: EUR 23.0 million).

Based on the positive development in the first half of the 2022/23 financial year and the preliminary half-year figures, the Management Board of the Zumtobel Group is now expecting a revenue growth of 4% to 8% (previously: 3% to 6%) and an EBIT margin of 4% to 6% (previously: 4% to 5%) for the 2022/23 financial year. This outlook is, however, in a very challenging market environment, dependent on continued sufficient gas supplies for Europe, an end to the constant increase in energy prices, and no further deterioration in the availability of input products for the production of luminaires and components.

The above figures are still subject to review by the auditor. The full half-year financial report and details for the six months ended 31 October 2022 will be published on 7 December 2022 in accordance with the financial calendar.
