MULLEN 1-101 EXPLORATION WELL SET TO SPUD

WHL Energy (‘WHL’) is pleased to announce that it has commenced drilling the first well of the Company’s initial eight well vertical oil development program located at its McCune Oil Field in Kansas. WHL is the operator of the well on its own behalf and expects that each well will take approximately 2 days to drill to total depth and complete. This project begins the development drilling program, previously announced by the Company, to fully exploit the oil pool WHL believes exists within the Company’s Cherokee Basin holdings.

The Company reports that this initial well will be immediately cased for production and completion operations will begin once the casing has been set and the drilling rig has been moved to the site of the Company’s second drilling location. Additional information will be announced once full evaluation of the initial well has been completed.

WHL’s CEO, Dr. David S. Kahn commented, “We are very excited about the potential which we believe exists in Kansas. Should our wells be commercially successful, the opportunity exists for the drilling of a substantial number of additional development locations on WHL Energy’s land acerage.”
