ASX ANNOUNCEMENT

Dated: WHN 28 April 2010

MULLEN 101-1 CONFIRMED AS A PRODUCER/SPUDDING OF UNDERWOOD 6

The Directors of WHL Energy Ltd are pleased to announce that the Mullen 101-1 has been confirmed as a production well. Open hole logs have been completed and confirm 12 feet of net pay with an associated 35%+ porosity and natural fracturing.

Significant shows of gas were recorded over the productive section with excellent log and core characteristics.

WHL Energy can confirm that this production is from the deeper Mississippi limestone formation and has the potential to be a significant productive horizon for the company.

The company achieved both a pressure build up of 250 psi and a 12 hour flow test on this well and are pleased to announce a significant natural flow rate estimated at 300 mcf/day. The decision to complete the well and end the flow test was made after requirements to continue on schedule with the aggressive drilling program WHL has underway.

The natural fractured geology of this well and specifically the Mississippi formation in this area has given WHL Energy increased confidence that this well can potentially be paid back out of production within 2-3 Months and potentially produce for 10+ years, with no more capex required for additional stimulation in order to augment flow. Moreover, there may be the opportunity for additional offsetting wells ultimately when the well is tied in for production.

Due to the company's impending water injection program, a decision was made to spud Underwood 6 instead of Underwood 31 as previously stated in order to optimize the water flood injection patterns. Spudding of Underwood 6 is intended for tomorrow.

Yours Faithfully,

Ian Mitchell Company Secretary
