UNDERWOOD #6-21 WELL SUCCESS McCUNE SHALLOW OIL PROJECT, CRAWFORD COUNTY, KANSAS

• Oil and gas displaced to surface during drilling

• Logs indicate 16 feet of Cattlemen Sand

WHL Energy Ltd. (ASX:WHN), advises that drilling of the Underwood #6-21 well successfully reached total depth of 238 feet on Thursday evening 30 April 2010. Free oil and gas were displaced to the surface during drilling operations.

Logs were completed the following day showing that the well intersected the target Cattlemen Sand at a depth of 216 feet. Cattlemen Sand contains 16 feet of rock from which oil and gas is expected to be produced in commercial quantities, with an associated porosity of 22%.

The well has been cased and will be completed for both primary oil production and for water flooding.
