APPOINTMENT OF ADDITIONAL DIRECTOR

Australian energy company WHL Energy Limited ( ASX: WHN ) (“ WHL Energy ” or the “ Company ” ) is pleased to announce the appointment of an additional member to the Board of Directors.

Mr John Chandler has been appointed to the Board of Directors as a Non-executive Director. Mr Chandler brings to this new role a strong background in oil and gas company management.

After graduating with a LL.B. (Hons), Mr Chandler went on to establish a career within the legal industry, progressing to become a Managing partner at Parker and Parker, as well as the Perth Office of KPMG Legal. He has over 30 year’s commercial experience with a focus on project finance and mining and energy. Mr Chandler is currently a Senior Consultant to McKenzie Moncrieff, Lawyers.

Mr Chandler is also a Non-executive Director of ASX listed oil and gas company Sino Gas & Energy Holdings Limited as well as a Non-Executive Director of an unlisted engineering company. In addition, he is the Associate Director of the Centre for Mining, Energy and Natural Resources Law in the Law School at the University of Western Australia.

Managing Director, Steve Noske said, “I believe that Mr Chandler’s commercial, corporate and business experience will prove invaluable as WHL Energy continues to progress the farmout process of its flagship asset in the Republic of the Seychelles.”
