Cost-saving Zalaris Application Simplifies Key Time Registrations for ArcelorMittal Poland and its 10,000 Steel Industry Employees
On-the-go digital approach enables entries from anywhere there's an Internet
connection, driving efficiencies for staff and management across the enterprise
Another industry leader is turning to Zalaris for unique HR solutions - in this
case the largest steel producer in Poland, ArcelorMittal. The company selected
Zalaris to introduce an application, "HRapka," for individual registration of
absences and overtime. The application dramatically reduces paper consumption
while making all steps more efficient for time-off requests and overtime pay
procedures associated with the company that employs approximately 10,000 people
across Poland. Zalaris Consulting Poland is responsible for the project's
implementation, slated for completion by year end.
HRapka users have access to the application from virtually anywhere, including
office workstations on premise or via mobile devices compatible with Android and
IOS. The application combines technology enabling employee self-service and
access to online personnel data (via SAP SuccessFactors integration) with the
payroll calculation system (SAP ERP), while changing paper documents into a
digital request-and-authorization process.
"In just a few clicks, employees can easily check vacation days and other time
off available at any given time; update their personal data; send requests; or
see the availability of other team members, for example," explained Katarzyna
Kwiatkowska, Zalaris Country Manager Poland. "In addition to simplifying access
to relevant data and saving time that would otherwise be spent on completing,
printing and submitting paper-based requests to HR coordinators, this
application brings digital advantages that ArcelorMittal staff and management
will both greatly value."
When considering the economies of scale that HRapka enables, covering an
estimated 10,000 people, company leaders anticipate saving nearly one ton of
paper annually or the equivalent of several adult trees annually. "One of the
most rewarding aspects of what we do as a company is helping our customers
become more efficient in ways that are also good for the environment as well as
the health and well being of their employees," Zalaris CEO, Hans-Petter Mellerud
points out. "We are passionate about making a difference everywhere we do
business, including at the community level throughout Europe, the UK and
Ireland."
