Title: Patent protection obtained from the Japanese Patent Office
Legal basis: Article 17(1) MAR - inside information
Content: The Management Board of XTPL S.A. ["Issuer", "Company", "XTPL"]hereby reports that in the evening on 4 January 2022 it receivedinformation that the Japanese Patent Office granted the Company a patentfor its method of forming lines with a width below 1 micrometer usingthe XTPL-developed ink containing nanoparticles of silver. The patentwas granted in response to the patent application "Bottom-up method forforming wire structures upon a substrate". The final formal requirementfor obtaining the patent is to pay the patent fee by 3 February 2022.Should the requirement not be met, the Company will communicate this ina separate current report.
The application procedure for this patent was initiated on 22 March2016. This is also the date when patent protection started. Moreover,the Company's portfolio includes 24 patent applications.
Outside of Japan, the patent application is already protected in theUnited States, China and Germany. The Issuer is taking steps to obtainprotection in other countries, including Israel, Vietnam and Taiwan.
The patent protection will increase the value of the potentialcommercialization of the Company's technology in the context ofindustrial implementation. The reported event confirms continueddelivery of the Company's strategy of building a patent cloud for itsproprietary technology and products, which will contribute to buildingthe Issuer's credibility among potential industrial clients.
In view of the above, and considering the confirmation of uniqueness ofthe Company's technological solutions, and then the outlook for theIssuer's perception by investors, the Issuer's Management Board hasdecided that the conditional decision to grant the patent to the Companyshould be deemed inside information. For this reason, in the opinion ofthe Management Board, the information about the conclusion of theAgreement meets the criteria set out in Article 7(1) of the MAR.
