The Management Board of XTPL S.A. ("Issuer", "Company", "XTPL") herebyannounces that on 18 May 2021, the Issuer submitted a patent applicationwith the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) relating tothe method of checking geometric parameters of the cartridge developedby the Issuer. The cartridge is a key component of the XTPLprinting system. It is also a nano-ink reservoir and a piece that feedsink into the printing nozzle. When printing micrometric features usingthe method developed by XTPL, high precision is required in the processof manufacturing individual printer components, including the cartridge.Proper operation of the cartridge is determined by a number ofparameters, including its geometry. For this reason, the XTPL R&D teamdeveloped a quick and precise method of checking the cartridge'sgeometric parameters, and built an appropriate measuring system. Thismethod turned out to be effective and innovative, so Issuer decided toprepare a patent application in this regard. Checking the geometricalparameters of the cartridge by means of this method is one of a seriesof steps to prepare the cartridge for printing. The Issuer'sManagement Board has decided that the submission of the above-mentionedpatent application is inside information, as in the case of an entityoperating in the deep-tech sector, effective protection of intellectualand industrial property is one of the elements that investors may takeinto account when making decisions about the Issuer's financialinstruments. The proper functioning of the cartridge is one of the keyaspects of the technology developed by the Issuer. An appropriatelevel of intellectual and industrial property protection (including, inparticular, the possession of patents) may be key to the Issuer'scompetitive advantage. In the opinion of the Company's ManagementBoard, it is essential to have extensive patent protection in selectedmarkets, as it may give XTPL leverage when negotiating commercialcontracts, which may affect the valuation of the Issuer's financialinstruments and may be of importance for investors. The purposeof the patent procedure is to secure the Issuer's strategic interestswith respect to protection of intellectual and industrial property. Thisis in line with XTPL's development plan, which provides for having anextensive patent cloud.Accordingly, in the Management Board'sopinion, the information on submission of the patent application meetsthe criteria of inside information within the meaning of Article 7(1)MAR.
