Diploma awarded $21M in contracts

Leading Western Australian construction company Diploma Group (ASX:DGX) confirms the award of two contracts worth a total of $21 million.

The projects include a $18 million contract for the construction of 33 residences in Perry Lakes Floreat for long term client TRG Properties and a $3 million appointment to construct a standalone Dan Murphy’s store for Woolworths Limited in Kwinana.

Podium – Perry Lakes

A formal contract has been executed with TRG Properties for the construction of 33 residences over three levels in Perry Lakes Floreat. The award of this contract, with stage 1 commencing in two weeks, follows the award of the $35m Ocean Edge contract for TRG, in Port Coogee, which is scheduled for Practical Completion in June 2014.

Commencement of Stage 2 of the contract is subject to sufficient presales being secured in the development.

Stage 1 of the project is expected to run for 52 weeks with completion in June 2014.

Dan Murphys – Kwinana

Construction of a standalone 1500m2 Dan Murphys store in Kwinana has now commenced with completion expected by October 2013. The award of this further stage of works for Woolworths follows the completion of the Kwinana Market Place redevelopment for the same client earlier in the year.

The award of the two contracts takes Diploma’s order book to $260 million to be completed over the next 18 months with the lion share occurring during FY14. With the medium to high density residential market remaining buoyant in Western Australia, the company expects to secure additional opportunities over the coming 6 months.
