Woolworths announces new director

Woolworths Limited (Woolworths) today announces the appointment of Ms Kathee Tesija as a NonExecutive Director.

Ms Tesija, a US resident, is also an independent director of the US telecommunications company, Verizon Communications, Inc., and is a senior advisor and consultant for Simpactful, a consulting agency in the US.

In her executive career, Ms Tesija led the merchandising and supply chain functions at Target Corporation in the US from 2008, and was the Chief Merchandising and Supply Chain Officer and Executive Vice President when she left the company in 2015. Kathee became a Strategic Advisor to the business until 2016 and had held various senior leadership positions at Target Corporation within merchandising since joining in 1986.

Chairman Gordon Cairns said: “I am delighted to have someone with the depth of Kathee’s retailing experience join the Woolworths Board. Her expertise, particularly in the areas of merchandising and supply chain management, as well as her international perspective, will be a great resource for Woolworths. I am also delighted that we will now have a 50% representation of women on the Board of Woolworths”.
