Woolworths Limited appoints new Directors

The Chairman of Woolworths Limited, James Strong, today announced the appointment of Ms Jillian Broadbent AO and Mr Ralph Waters as Non-Executive Directors.

Ms Broadbent has extensive experience across a number of sectors, including consumer goods and retail property, having served on the Board of both Coca-Cola Amatil and Westfield Group. Her executive career was in the corporate banking and finance sectors in Australia and overseas, principally with Bankers Trust Australia. She is a member of the Board of the Reserve Bank and is a NonExecutive Director of ASX Limited and Special Broadcasting Service Corporation (SBS). Ms Broadbent is also Chancellor of Wollongong University.

Mr Waters has extensive management experience in the Australasian building products industry including Managing Director of Email, a major Australian industrial company, and as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Fletcher Building Limited. He is chairman of Fisher & Paykel Appliances Holdings Limited, Fletcher Building Limited, and is a director of Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited and of Westpac New Zealand.

Both appointments are effective from today.
