Woolworths Limited Announces the Retirement of Non-Executive Director

Woolworths Limited today announced the retirement of Non-Executive Director, Professor Adrienne Clarke effective 30 September 2007.

Woolworths Chairman James Strong paid tribute to Professor Clarke’s long term contribution.

‘Adrienne Clarke joined the Woolworths Board in 1994 shortly after the company was listed. She has played a very significant role through this period of rapid growth and financial success. She has made special contributions in areas such as food technology, intellectual property protection and understanding the customer experience’.

Professor Clarke said that during her 13 years with Woolworths she has seen the company through a period of great growth but that she is now planning to focus her attention on a newly listed ag-biotech company, Hexima Limited
