Obtala Resources Limited (AIM:OBT), the natural resource investment and development company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Timothy (Tim) William Walker to the Board as a Non Executive Director with immediate effect.

Tim, aged 57, has gained over 30 years of business experience in emerging markets, primarily in Latin America, India and more recently sub-Saharan Africa. His primary focus has been in the Agri and Utility sectors in structuring and managing funds. During the last two years he was responsible for establishing a US company in East Africa which focuses on micro-crop technology to the food and feed sector.  He has worked with Espirito Santo Bank, Gerard and National Inter-commodities Ltd and the Inchcape Group.

Commenting on today's announcement, Francesco Scolaro, Chairman of Obtala, said: "On behalf of the Board, I would like to welcome Tim to Obtala. Tim's background in the agri sector, particular in Africa, coupled with his corporate finance skills will undoubtedly bring significant benefits to Obtala as we focus on building our emerging agribusiness."
