Wiseway announces New Zealand expansion

Wiseway Group Limited ( Wiseway ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Traci Cox as its National Air Freight Manager with effect from 8 April 2019. In this role, Traci will lead Wiseway’s strategic expansion in the New Zealand market. Traci is a strategic export and logistics executive with more than 20 years’ experience including senior roles with Kuehne & Nagel, Toll Global Forwarding, Worldwide GSA and DHL.
Wiseway CEO and Co-Founder Roger Tong said “I am very excited to have an industry veteran like Traci join Wiseway to drive our strategic expansion in this important market. We will see revenue contribution from New Zealand late in FY19, and expect New Zealand to contribute 10-20% of Group revenues within 2-3 years.”
The appointment of Ms Cox, follows Wiseway’s recent commitment to lease an approximately 2,500m[2] facility in the highly desirable Airport Oaks precinct, a short distance from Auckland International airport. The facility, which was previously operated by a Top10 global logistics company, comprises approximately 1,700m² of warehouse, 400m[2] of cold storage and is fully equipped with racking and hoists for PMC packing.
Co-founder and Managing Director, Florence Tong said “This facility is ideal and set up to enable Wiseway to easily commence its operations. We see existing demand from our current Chinese platform and other customers to move milk powder, nutritional products and perishables from New Zealand to China. As well, we are encouraged by the support we are receiving from our airline partners.”

New Zealand, and Auckland in particular, is a major air freight market for Australia. According to the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) in 2018, Auckland was the second largest outbound air freight destination and third largest inbound air freight destination to Australia. Placing it third overall behind only Singapore and Hong Kong. Currently, there are approximately 30 directs flights weekly from Auckland to China, which increases significantly in the peak season (October to April).
National Air Freight Manager, Ms Traci Cox commented: “Wiseway has built a fantastic business in Australia and I look forward to helping replicate that success here and see Wiseway New Zealand emerge as a major freight forwarder and logistics services provider in this market.”
