Windar Photonics plc

("Windar" or the "Company")

Additional Test Orders from Vestas

Windar Photonics plc (AIM:WPHO), the technology group that has developed a cost efficient and innovative LiDAR wind sensor for use on electricity generating wind turbines, is pleased to announce that it has received a new test order under the Company's global distribution agreement with Vestas Wind Systems A/S ("Vestas") for deployment with an Independent Power Producer ("IPP") in Australia.

The order, for an initial 5 units and an option for a further additional 43 systems, is based on the earlier successful demonstration in North America showing material yaw-alignment optimisation, providing proven annual energy production increases of more than 3% and the reduction of wind turbine loads and alarms resulting in less downtime in high wind speed periods. These results were verified by Vestas, the Independent Power Producer and internal Windar analytic reports.

Following the orders announced at the end of 2021 for wind turbine parks in North America, the Company is encouraged to see the interest in its optimization solution for the Vestas V82 turbine platform now being further followed by Independent Power Producers in Australia.

Windar will continue to work with its partners and customers to offer the recently optimised power improvement solution for the V82 and NM82 wind turbine models, of which there is roughly 6GW of installed capacity currently in operation globally.

Jørgen Korsgaard Jensen, CEO of Windar, commented: "This new order is encouraging, as this follows our overall strategy to address the current V82 Wind turbine platforms installed worldwide and is based on results achieved in North America in 2021. Our initial work on this project began more than two years ago and, besides the general results achieved in North America, we believe the general increased energy prices have most likely been a further factor behind the order."
