Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Wincanton Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Gill Barr as an Independent Non-Executive director of the Company effective from 15 September 2017. Ms Barr will also be appointed as a member of the Company's Audit, Nomination and Remuneration committees.

Ms Barr is currently a Non-Executive Director of PayPoint Plc and a Trustee Director of Willis Towers Watson's master trust, Lifesight Ltd. She is also Chair of the Customer Challenge Group for Severn Trent Water Plc.

Ms Barr was previously a Non-Executive Director of Morgan Sindall Plc from 2004 to 2012. Her executive career focus has been on delivery of customer propositions. She was Group Marketing Director of The Co-operative Group from 2011 to 2014, and was previously Marketing Director of John Lewis. She spent seven years at Kingfisher Plc where she held a variety of senior marketing, business development and strategy roles.

Steve Marshall, Chairman of Wincanton Plc, said, "We are delighted to welcome Gill to the Wincanton Board. Her customer facing and business development expertise, not least in marketing and e-commerce, is directly relevant to the group's ongoing strategic focus."

Ms Barr does not currently hold any Wincanton Plc shares and no further information in connection with her appointment is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
