US$ Berlin, 6. März 2000 – Die Senator Film AG erwirbt auf dem Sundance Film Festival, der Berlinale und dem American Film Market internationale Kinospielfilme mit Starbesetzung und Auszeichnungen. Beim Sundance Film Festival, dem wichtigsten Film Festival der USA, erhielt Senator u.a. den Zuschlag für “Girlfight”, den zweifachen Gewinner des Festivals (bester Film und beste Regie). Der Kinostart ist bereits für dieses Jahr vorgesehen. Auf der Berlinale erwarb Senator Film ein erstklassiges Filmpaket von der führenden französischen Produktionsfirma Canal Plus. Darin enthalten sind so erfolgversprechende Titel wie “The Others” mit Nicole Kidman in der Hauptrolle. Beim American Film Market (AFM) in Los Angeles kaufte Senator Film u.a. von Miramax (“Der Englische Patient”, “Scream”, “Pulp Fiction”) die Rechte an der romantischen Komödie “Chocolat”. Juliette Binoche und Johnny Depp spielen die Hauptrollen in dem Film des Oscar nominierten Regisseurs Lasse Hallström. Insgesamt erwarb die Senator Film AG 13 Filme mit einem Produktionsvolumen von rund 150 Mio. US$. Senator erhält die deutschsprachigen Rechte der Filme in der Regel für alle Verwertungsstufen (Kino, TV, Video/DVD) inklusive der Online Rechte für mindestens 20 Jahre zum Teil sogar bis auf unbegrenzte Zeit. March 2000 – Senator Film AG has acquired star- driven and award-winning international motion pictures at the Sundance Film Festival, the Berlin Film Festival and the American Film Market. At the Sundance Film Festival, the most important film festival in the US, Senator acquired the two-time festival winner “Girlfight” (best film and best director). The release is planned for this year. At the Berlin Film Festival, Senator Film picked up a first class film package from Le Studio Canal Plus. Included are promising titles like “The Others” starring Nicole Kidman. At the American Film Market (AFM) in Los Angeles, Senator Film bought the rights to the romantic comedy “Chocolat” from Miramax (“The English Patient”, “Scream”, “Pulp Fiction”) in which Jutiette Binoche and Johnny Depp will star.
