Januar 2000 – Die Senator Film AG hat mit FilmFour, Großbritannien, eine Produktionsallianz geschlossen, die die Koproduktion von mindestens 14 internationalen Kinospielfilmen umfasst Nach dem Amberlon Deal ist dies ein weiterer Schritt für Senator, sich weltweit und für unbegrenzte Zeit die Koproduzenten- und Auswertungsrechte an attraktiven Spielfilmen zu sichern. Zusätzlich erhält Senator die deutschsprachigen Rechte für alle Medien. Das Produktionsbudget der Filme beträgt insgesamt rund 400 Mio. US-Dollar. Durch die Koproduktion englischsprachiger Spielfilme erschließt sich Senator Film ein enormes Markt- und Zukunftspotenzial. Internationale Koprodukionen vereinbart Eines der ersten Projekte wird “Our Lucky Break”, die neue Komödie von Peter Cattaneo, Regisseur des Erfolgsfilms Full Monty (“Ganz oder gar nicht”), sein. FilmFour ist eine 100%ige Tochter von Channel Four und eine der renommiertesten und innovativsten Produktionsgesellschaften Europas. Sie waren federführend an Filmen wie “Vier Hochzeiten und ein Todesfall” und “Trainspotting” beteiligt. Following the Amberlon deal, this is a further step by Senator towards acquiring the world-wide co-prodution and exploitation rights in perpetuity for attracitve feature films. In addition Senator will receive the German language rights for all media. The productions budgets amount to a total of approximately $400 million. Co-producing English-language films is an effective strategy in improving Senator’s market potential and corporate prospects. International Co-productions on the Agenda Up-coming ventures include “Our Lucky Break”, the new comedy by the director of the box office smash “The Full Monty”, Peter Cattaneo.
