Oktober 2000 – Die Senator Entertainment AG erwirbt 51% der X Filme Creative Pool GmbH, Berlin und Köln. Die restlichen Anteile verbleiben zu gleichen Teilen bei den Altgesellschaftern. In diesem Zusammenhang beteiligt sich die Senator Entertainment AG auch mit 25,1% an der X Verleih AG, Berlin. Die X Filme Creative Pool GmbH wurde 1994 von den Regisseuren Wolfgang Becker, Dani Levy, Tom Tykwer und dem Produzenten Stefan Arndt gegründet. Nach nur 6 Jahren kann die Gesellschaft auf eine einmalige Erfolgsgeschichte zurückblicken. Mit Filmen wie “Lola rennt” oder “Das Leben ist eine Baustelle” konnte X Filme in kürzester Zeit größte Erfolge bei Kritik und Publikum im In- und Ausland feiern. So wurde die Gesellschaft allein in den letzten 4 Jahren mit 16 Bundesfilmpreisen ausgezeichnet. “Lola rennt” wurde mit einem Einspielergebnis von rd. 7,5 Mio. US-Dollar der kommerziell erfolgreichste ausländische Film in den USA in 1999. X Filme verfügt über ein Netzwerk renommierter internationaler Partner wie Miramax oder Sony Pictures Classic in den USA. Neben dem Kerngeschäft der Kinofilmproduktion verfügt die X Filme Creative Pool GmbH mit X Music über eine eigene Abteilung zur Produktion und Vermarktung von Musik sowie mit der X Verleih AG über ein national tätiges Verleih-Tochterunternehmen. Die X Filme Creative Pool GmbH plant die Ausweitung der Produktionstätigkeit auf 4 bis 6 Kinofilme pro Jahr und ein verstärktes Engagement in der TV-Produktion. Existing stockholders will continue to own equal interest in the remaining shares. In addition, Senator Entertainment AG also took 25.1% share of the X Verleih AG, Berlin. Directors Wolfgang Becker, Dani Levy, Tom Tykwer and producer Stefan Arndt founded the X Filme Creative Pool GmbH in 1994. The company wrote an amazing success story of its own in only six years time. X Filme was able to quickly celebrate tremendous domestic and international critical and public acclaim with films like “Run Lola Run” and “Life Is All You Get”. The company was honored with 16 national film prizes in the past four years alone. With box office revenues of some US$ 7.5 million, “Run Lola Run” was the most successful foreign film in the U.S. in 1999. X Filme has a network of renowned international partners including Miramax and Sony Pictures Classic in the U.S. There is more to X Filme Creative Pool GmbH than its core business of feature film production. It also contains X Music, as its own department for music production and marketing, and X Verleih AG, its domestic distribution subsidiary. X Filme Creative Pool GmbH plans to expand its production activities to four to six feature films a year together with greater involvement in television productions. This acquisition is another focused strategic move to expand Senator Entertainment AG’s production operations.
