Senator Film hat mit dem erfolgreichsten amerikanischen Studio Boss aller Zeiten, Eric Pleskow, und dem niederländischen Medienmanager und Schriftsteller Leon de Winter ein Joint Venture für die weltweite Produktion und Vermarktung englischsprachiger Spielfilme geschlossen. Rund 40 Projekte sind derzeit in Planung. Name der Gesellschaft ist Amberlon Pictures, an der Senator mit 51% beteiligt ist. Sitz des Unternehmens ist London. Weltweite Produktion und Distribution internationaler Spielfilme Gemeinsam ist geplant, das weltweit größte, unabhängige Filmstudio für die Produktion und Distribution englischsprachiger Spielfilme in Europa aufzubauen. Für Senator bedeutet das Joint Venture den direkten Einstieg in die amerikanische bzw. globale Koproduktion internationaler Spielfilme, die Amberlon weltweit vermarkten wird. Senator profitiert dabei in jeder Verwertungsstufe von den Produktions- und Distributionserlösen der Pro- jekte des Joint Ventures: Senator ist an den Weltvertriebserlösen der gemeinsamen Produktionen beteiligt, an den Weltrechten für eine unbegrenzte Laufzeit für alle Aus- wertungsarten und erhält zudem die deutschsprachigen Rechte der internationalen Produktionen ohne Garantie-Zahlung mit unbegrenzter Laufzeit für alle Auswertungsarten. Zusätzlich wird Senator ab jetzt die überaus lukrative internationale Vermarktung von Eigenproduktionen im konzerneigenen Weltvertrieb durchführen, wie beispielsweise Joseph Vilsmaiers neuer Film “Marlene”. Senator ist somit nicht nur in Deutschland eines der größten, unabhän- gigen Filmproduktions- und Distributionsunternehmen, sondern strebt auch international eine Führungsposition an. “Mit Amberlon Pictures führen wir die Strategie, die führenden Köpfe der Medienbrache an uns zu binden, jetzt auch international fort”, so der Vorstandsvorsitzende der SENATOR FILM AG, Hanno Huth. “Durch das Joint Venture rechnen wir in den nächsten 10 Jahren mit einem zusätz- lichen Umsatzvolumen von 1,2 Mrd. DM.” Die Partner Eric Pleskow ist der ehemalige Präsident von United Artists und Gründer von Orion Pictures und war laut New York Times an der Herstellung von 18 der 100 besten Filme aller Zeiten beteiligt, wie beispielsweise “Das Schweigen der Lämmer”, “Einer flog übers Kuckucksnest”, “Amadeus”, “Platoon”, “Der mit dem Wolf tanzt” und an zahlreichen Woody Allen- und Rocky Filmen oder auch an der Verfilmung des Günter Grass Romans “Die Blechtrommel”. Leon de Winter ist ein renommierter und erfolgreicher niederländischer Medienmanager, Schriftsteller und Drehbuchautor. October 1999: Since its Initial Public Offering in January of this year, SENATOR FILM AG has been on a continuous course of expansion. Senator Film has reached an agreement with the most successful American studio boss of all time, Eric Pleskow, and the Dutch media manager and author, Leon de Winter, on a joint venture for the worldwide production and marketing of English-language feature films. Approximately forty projects are currently planned. The name of the company is Amberlon Pictures, with a 51% stake held by Senator Film, and will be headquartered in London. Worldwide production and distribution of international feature films It is planned with the partners to establish the world’s largest independent film studio for the production and distribution of English-language feature films in Europe. For Senator, the joint venture represents the direct entry into the American and global coproduction of international feature films which Amberlon will distribute internationally. Senator will thus profit at each step from the production and distribution revenues of the projects in the joint venture: Senator will participate in the world distribution revenues of the joint productions, in the worldwide rights unlimited by time or forms of media, and will obtain German-language rights to the international productions without guarantee payments for an unlimited period for all forms of media. In addition, Senator will now carry out the lucrative international marketing of its own productions through the group-owned worldwide distributor, for example Joseph Vilsmaier’s new film “Marlene”. The Partners Eric Pleskow is the former President of United Artists and founder of Orion and participated, according to the New York Times, in the production of 18 of the 100 best films of all time, for example, “Silence of the Lambs”, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, “Amadeus”, “Platoon”, “Dances With Wolves”, numerous Woody Allen and “Rocky” films, as well as the film version of the Günther Grass novel “The Tin Drum”. Leon de Winter is a renowned and successful Dutch media manager, author, and screenplay writer.
