Senator: First half of 2002 shaped by shift in revenues Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Leap in sales expected in second half of 2002 following strategic repositioning – Revenues and results subject to typical industry fluctuations – Box office hits, TV-package sales and world distribution revenue promise leap in revenues for second half and beyond Senator Entertainment AG (CUSIP 722440) reached sales of EUR 30.1 million in the first half of 2002, after EUR 83.2 million in the same period of the previous year – whereby the bulk was from license trade income. Although there were heavy sales fluctuations typical for the industry over the entire year, a positive EBITDA of EUR 14.5 million was earned in the first half (prior year: 59.8). The greater part of revenues, above all revenues from global distribution, TV license trade and cinema distribution business (8 cinema openings) come in the second half of the year. As of the cut off date, the amortization rate rose to 69% (58%), thus EBIT was EUR -6.3 million (10.9). The semi-annual result totaled EUR -10.1 million (+6.4). The financial result included in the above contains among other things the share of CinemaxX AG losses absorbed. Earnings per share were EUR -0.30 after EUR 0.19 in the comparable period. Due to sufficient loan facilities, there is already a positive outlook also beyond fiscal year 2002. The film pipeline for 2003 has already been secured and the groundwork laid for the future with individual projects. The output deal with Revolution Studios was successfully restructured. Flexible first look deals were concluded with renowned Hollywood producer Gavin Polone (PANIC ROOM) and director Sam Raimi (SPIDER-MAN). The annual forecast will be reviewed soon depending on the overall economic development and production progress in international projects. Senator Entertainment AG, Karl W.
