März 2000 – Die Umsätze der Senator Film AG haben sich in 1999 gegenüber dem Vorjahr nahezu verdreifacht und stiegen von 43,6 Mio. DM auf 122,7 Mio. DM an. Das Ergebnis vor Zinsen, Steuern und Abschreibungen (EBITDA) stieg um 344% auf 72,9 Mio. DM (Vorjahr: 16,4 Mio. DM), das Betriebsergebnis (EBIT) erhöhte sich um 148% auf 12,4 Mio. DM gegenüber 5,0 Mio. DM im Vorjahr. Ein noch deutlicheres Wachstum erreichte Senator beim Jahresüberschuß und dem DVFA/SG-Ergebnis: Der Vorjahreswert wurde jeweils von 2,08 auf 10,75 Mio. DM gesteigert (+416%). Das Ergebnis je Aktie konnte mehr als verfünffacht werden und betrug im abgelaufenen Geschäftsjahr 2,15 DM gegenüber 0,41 DM in 1998. In dem Bereich mit der höchsten Wertschöpfung, der Filmproduktion, konnte Senator 1999 seinen Umsatz um 435% auf 34,8 Mio. DM (Vorjahr: 6,5 Mio. DM) steigern. Senator wird künftig verstärkt internationale Spielfilme produzieren bzw. koproduzieren und sich mit den unbegrenzten Auswertungsmöglichkeiten ein weltweites Marktpotenzial erschliessen. Die Distributionserlöse von Senator stiegen um 137% von 37,1 Mio. DM auf 87,9 Mio. DM. Zur Steigerung trug der Verkauf von attraktiven Filmlizenzen bei. Auch liefen in 1999 insgesamt doppelt so viele Senator Filme in den Kinos an wie im Jahr zuvor. Dazu der Senator Vorstandsvorsitzende Hanno Huth: “Unsere Wachstumsraten und vor allem unsere Ergebnissteigerung sind das Ergebnis unserer zielgerichteten Expansionsstrategie, die mit Kreativität und dem nötigen Know-how umgesetzt wurde. Weitere Beteiligungen und Akquisitionen sind für dieses Jahr geplant, die Senators eingeschlagenen Weg zu einem voll integrierten, weltweit agierenden Medienkonzern beschleunigen werden. Berlin, 27. March 2000 – Sales revenue almost tripled in 1999 as compared with the previous year and has climbed from DM 43.6 million to DM 122.7 million. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) was up by 344% to DM 72.9 million (previous year DM 16.4 million), and the operating result (EBIT) rose by 148% to DM 12.4 million as compared with DM 5.0 million in the previous year. Senator achieved even stronger growth in its annual net income and DVFA/SG result, where last year’s figures of 2.08 Mio. DM improved by 416% to 10.75 Mio. DM in 1999. The earnings per share could be multiplied by more than five-fold and amounted to DM 2.15 in the past business year as compared with DM 0.41 in 1998. In the field with the highest real net output, namely film production, Senator could in 1999 increase its volume of business by 435% to DM 34.8 million (previous year DM 6.5 million). Senator will produce or co-produce more international films in the future and develop for itself a world-wide market potential with the unlimited opportunities of exploitation. Senator’s revenue for distribution has increased by 137% from DM 37.1 million to DM 87.9 million. The sale of attractive film licences contributed to the increase. Overall, double the number of Senator films were released in cinemas as compared with last year. Commenting on this, Senator’s chairman Hanno Huth said: “Our growth rates and primarily our increase in profits are the result of our purposeful expansion strategy which has been realised with creativity and the necessary know-how. Further investments and acquisitions are planned this year which will enable us in a short space of time to pursue the path to becoming a fully integrated media group, active world-wide. Besides increasing international productions and co-productions, we are planning to expand our activities into the music and new media markets.” Figures planned for 2001 increased In 2000, the Berlin company is striving for a 65% growth in sales to approximately DM 203 million. As a result of the numerous business co-operations, acquisitions and investments by Senator Film AG, the company has by far exceeded the budgeted figures which were announced at the point of the IPO. It forecast a sales revenue of DM 244 million for 2001 and increased the planed figures up to DM 385 million.
