Februar 2000 – Senator Film übernimmt die Vertriebsaktivitäten der X-Verleih AG im deutschen Kino. X-Verleih ist die neugegründete Filmverleihgesellschaft der X-Filme Creative Pool GmbH, Berlin, eine der innovativsten deutschen Produktionsgesellschaften. Senator Film wird für mindestens 2 Jahre sämtliche von der X-Verleih AG ver- tretenen Filme exklusiv für Deutschland vertreiben. Zu diesen zählen auch alle Filme der X-Filme Creative Pool. Die X-Filme Creative Pool GmbH wurde 1994 von dem Produzenten Stefan Arndt gemeinsam mit den Regisseuren Wolfgang Becker, Dani Levy und Tom Tykwer ge- gründet. Mit “Das Leben ist eine Baustelle” und “Winterschläfer” schafften sie es, dass deutsche Filme wieder erfolgreich in europäischen Kinos waren. Mit Tom Tykwers Erfolgsfilm “Lola rennt” hat X-Filme Creative Pool auch international Anerkennung und ein begeistertes Publikum gefunden und zahlreiche Auszeichnungen erhalten. “X-Filme ist eine der kreativsten und innovativsten deutschen Produktionsge- sellschaften und wir freuen uns über eine Vertiefung der bisherigen Zusammen- arbeit”, meint Christoph Ott, Vorstand Marketing und Vertrieb der Senator Film AG. Der Distributionsdeal führt die Beziehungen beider Unternehmen auf eine neue Ebene. In der Vergangenheit hat Senator bereits X-Filme Produktionen wie z.B. “Das Leben ist eine Baustelle” verliehen. Die Filme werden über die Senator Tochter Central Filmvertriebs GmbH vertrieben. Central wurde im Dezember 1999 von der Senator Film AG zu 100% übernommen und soll in den kommenden Jahren zu einem Major Player in Deutschland ausgebaut werden. X-Verleih is the newly founded film rental company of X-Filme Creative Pool GmbH, Berlin, one of the most innovative German production companies. Senator Film has secured the rights for the entire output of cinema feature films from X-Verleih AG for Germany for a period of at least 2 years. This includes all of X-Filme Creative Pool productions. X-Filme Creative Pool GmbH was founded in 1994 by the producer Stefan Arndt together with the directors Wolfgang Becker, Dani Levy and Tom Tykwer. Their pictures “Life is all you get” and “Wintersleepers” were a hit making German pictures again a success in the cinemas of Europe. With Tom Tykwer’s successful movie “Run Lola run”, X-FiIme Creative Pool also won international recognition with an enthusiastic audience and numerous awards. “X-Filme is one of the most creative and innovative German production companies and we are pleased about this reinforcement of our existing co-operation,” says Christoph Ott, Member of the Board and responsible for marketing and distribution with Senator Film AG. The distribution deal will heighten the relations between the two companies to a new level. Senator already rented out X-Filme productions as for example “Life is all you get” in the past. The films will be distributed via the Senator subsidiary Central Filmvertriebs GmbH.
