November 2000 – Die Senator Entertainment AG und das britische Filmproduktionsunternehmen FilmFour – Tochtergesellschaft des Fernsehsenders Channel Four – haben die seit Januar diesen Jahres bestehende Vereinbarung über die Koproduktion und den Vertrieb von 14 internationalen Kinospielfilmen auf 21 ausgeweitet. Ausschlaggebend hierfür ist die ausgezeichnete Zusammenarbeit der beiden Unter- nehmen die sich in den hervorragenden Ergebnissen aus dem Weltvertrieb auf den Filmmessen in London und Mailand widerspiegelt. So konnten für die gemeinsamen Filmproduktionen in diesem Jahr bereits ein bedeutender zweistelliger Millionenbetrag (US-Dollar) erzielt werden, wobei weitere Abschlüsse in Verhandlung sind. Die Filme “Lucky Break” und “Charlotte Gray” zum Beispiel wurden jeweils für über 100% ihrer Produktionskosten ver- kauft und befinden sich somit schon vor Kinostart in der Gewinnzone. Senator hält die deutschsprachigen Rechte sämtlicher Filme für alle Medien und ist wesentlich an den Weltvertriebserlösen beteiligt. The decisive factor was the excellent way both companies have worked together, which was reflected in the outstanding world-marketing results at the film fairs in London and Milan. This meant that this year’s joint film productions were able to post significant (US dollar) results in the double-digit millions, with further business deals in negotiation. The films “Lucky Break” and “Charlotte Gray”, for example, were sold for over 100% of their production costs and are already profitable well ahead of their cinema release. Senator holds the German-speaking rights to all films for all media and receives a substantial share of the worldwide revenues.
