Wienerberger AG: Changes in Wienerberger's Shareholder Structure

Vienna (pta036/30.08.2011/17:00) - TIAA-CREF Investment Management, LLC holds less than 5% of Wienerberger shares

Wienerberger AG has received an announcement in accordance with § 91 (1) of the Austrian Stock Exchange Act concerning a change in the number of Wienerberger shares owned by TIAA-CREF Investment Management, LLC, which is based in the USA. As of August 24, 2011, TIAA-CREF reported a total holding of 5,818,762 shares or 4.951% of issued share capital in Wienerberger AG through its funds, investment management companies and affiliates.

Out of these 5,818,762 shares The College Retirement Equities Fund ("CREF") owns 5,772,498 or 4.912% of Wienerberger shares (out of 117,526,764 total shares outstanding) through two of its investment accounts, the CREF Stock Account and the CREF Global Equities Account. Additionally affiliates of CREF own 46,264 shares. These holdings are owned by TIAA-CREF Active Extension Funds, which are managed by Teacher Advisors, Inc., that is affiliated with TIAA-CREF Investment Management, LLC. Because Teachers Advisors, Inc. and TIAA-CREF Investment Management, LLC follow the same policies when voting these funds, the holdings were aggregated.
