WHITBREAD PLC - AUDITOR APPOINTMENT

Whitbread PLC today announces it has conducted a formal tender process for its statutory audit services.  Ernst & Young LLP has been the Group's auditor for over 60 years and, having taken account of the latest governance best practice, we decided that it would be appropriate to review the provider of these services.

Following completion of the audit of the Group's accounts for the year ended 26 February 2015, Deloitte LLP will be appointed as Whitbread PLC's statutory auditor, subject to approval by shareholders at the AGM on 16 June 2015.

Simon Melliss, Chairman of the Audit Committee, said: "We thank Ernst & Young LLP for their significant contribution over many years as Whitbread's auditor and we look forward to working with Deloitte LLP in the future."
