CLARIFICATION ANNOUNCEMENT

The board of directors of Daiwa Associate Holdings Limited (the “ Company ”) referred to the announcement of “Notice of Annual General Meeting” published in Hong Kong Economic Times dated 20 July 2005 (the “Announcement”) and wish to clarify that the date of 2005 annual general meeting should be 18 August 2005 instead of 18 August 2004.

Apart from the above, there is no change in the content of the Announcement.
