Radar Iron Ltd (ASX: RAD) is pleased to announce that drilling approval has been obtained for the recently identified hematite target at Johnston range. The prospect in the Johnston Range project area was identified through surface mapping and rock chip sampling in March.

The zone was mapped as being approximately 800m long and up to 100m wide of hematite enriched banded iron formation. 14 rock chip samples were taken, and within the zone, 10 samples, covering approximately 500m of strike length, averaged 59.5% Fe (Figure 4 and Table 1).

Drill testing is planned in May 2012 subject to drill rig availability.

Mapping and geophysical assessment is continuing to define further hematite targets which will be drill tested throughout 2012. Radar aims to define its initial hematite resources in coming months.
