WEBUILD: NEW WORKS WORTH USD 600 MILLION TO BUILD CULTURAL AND COMMERCIAL CENTRE IN DIRIYAH, SAUDI ARABIA

VALUE OF WORK BY WEBUILD ON URBAN DEVELOPMENT PROJECT REACHES NEARLY USD 2 BILLION

Milan, 14 July 2025 – Webuild strengthens its presence in Saudi Arabia with new works worth approximately USD 600 million (100% for the Group) as part of the Diriyah Square project. The combined value of the projects awarded to Webuild by Diriyah Company in recent years to transform Diriyah, the City of Earth, now totals approximately USD 2 billion. As home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of At-Turaif, a cornerstone of the Diriyah project, it is located in the northwest of Riyadh, and is destined to become one of the Kingdom's key cultural and commercial hubs.

"We are proud to be able to contribute to a project of such symbolic and strategic value for Saudi Arabia. Our presence in the Kingdom will be further strengthened by work that will have a positive impact on the area as well as the local community. We are enthusiastic about the prospect of developing this new phase of Diriyah Square, an important part of an iconic project," said Pietro Salini, Chief Executive of Webuild.

"The Webuild Group has been present in Saudi Arabia since 1966, having built more than 90 projects. We continue to support the country to develop some of the most challenging infrastructure projects in the world, especially in sectors such as civil buildings, sustainable mobility and desalination".

The new works, known as Package 3 Finishing and MEP, involve the construction of more than 70 buildings and public spaces designed in line with traditional Nadji architecture principles to deliver a pedestrianfocused, unique retail and lifestyle destination within Diriyah Square, covering a total area of approximately 365,000 square metres. Webuild is already involved in the mega project with the construction of a 10,500 vehicle underground, multi-story car park. Awarded in 2022, it is 55% completed. Related structural works are part of Package 3, 6 and 7.

The Webuild Group is engaged in strategic projects in the Kingdom, such as the Connector high-speed line, a system of three dams and a freshwater lake for Trojena. In Riyadh, it is working on the Sang Villas urbanisation plan.

Other iconic projects include the Riyadh Metro network's Orange Line (Line 3), the longest metro line in the network, opened in November; the celebrated Kingdom Centre, which received the 2002 Emporis Skyscraper Award as the world's best-designed skyscraper; more than 70 healthcare facilities; and the Shuaibah-3 desalination plant, built by Fisia Italimpianti, the Group's subsidiary specialising in water treatment and desalination.

Webuild is a global leader in the design and construction of large, complex infrastructure projects in sustainable mobility, hydropower, water treatment, and green buildings. A recognized leader in the water sector, it works in approximately 50 countries with over 92,000 people of 125 different nationalities. The Group boasts nearly 120 years of applied engineering on more than 3,700 completed projects, with a track record of 13,648 kilometres of railways, 891 kilometres of metro lines, 82,577 kilometres of roads and highways, 1,022 kilometres of bridges and viaducts, 3,462 kilometres of tunnels, and 318 dams and hydropower plants.
