Milan, May 28, 2025 – Webuild strengthens its position in Australia with a new project in the healthcare sector that is strategic for the territory. The Group signed the AUD 1.8 billion (€1.1 billion) contract for the overall amount for designing and constructing the Women and Babies Hospital in Perth, in Western Australia. The project will be entirely built by Webuild.
Commissioned by the Western Australia Government, the project is destined to replace the century-old King Edward Memorial Hospital and will expand the healthcare services for women, children and their families in the State of West Australia, transforming the capacity of two important healthcare campuses: the Fiona Stanley Hospital complex and the Osborne Park Hospital.
The Webuild Group brings extensive international and local expertise to the project, which across the globe includes designing and constructing approximately 200 global healthcare structures, included some of the most innovative, cutting-edge premium centres of the healthcare construction sector, both in Italy and globally, among which: the Ospedale dell'Angelo hospital of Venice-Mestre, a premium cutting-edge structure to this day among the most beautiful hospitals in Europe, and the Four Hospitals in Tuscany in Italy.
Webuild, and its Australian subsidiary Clough, will strengthen its presence in Australia with the new Perth Women and Babies Hospital, confirming Australia as Webuild's second largest market after Italy. Webuild last November was also awarded the AUD 1.7 billion for the Tunnels North section of the Suburban Rail Loop East in Melbourne, a new metro line that will strengthen the city's mobility system.
The Group, in Perth, has already built the Airport Line (previously known as the Forrestfield-Airport Link), 8.5 kilometres of line to connect the city centre to the eastern suburbs and has a legacy of over 100 projects

across WA such as the Narrows Bridge, Graham Farmer Freeway Tunnels. The Group is currently engaged with the state's largest waste water treatment plant in Perth south. In the Pilbara, the northern region in Western Australia, the Group is building one of the world's largest urea plants to produce fertilizers, and the Dampier Bulk Handling Facility, a strategic infrastructure to strengthen the Port of Dampier.
The Group, in Melbourne, is building the North East Link tunnel, an important section of the city's motorway network; while in Sydney, it is participating in the development of the Sydney Metro that will connect the city to the Western Sydney International Airport, the largest PPP (Public-Private Partnership) project in New South Wales. Webuild and Clough, in the same Australian state, are also building Snowy 2.0. the largest project in Australia to produce renewable energy.
