WAM Capital appoints new Director

The Board of WAM Capital Limited (ASX: WAM) announces the appointment of Ms Kate Thorley as Non-executive Director.

WAM Capital Chairman Geoff Wilson said the Company would benefit from Kate’s significant experience in accounting, corporate governance and operations gained primarily as Chief Executive Officer of Wilson Asset Management.

“We are delighted to welcome Kate to the Board. Kate has strong skills and experience gained during her 11 years with Wilson Asset Management. During this time, Kate has continually demonstrated her commitment to WAM Capital shareholders,” Geoff said.

Kate is Non-executive Director of Wilson Asset Management’s other listed investment companies (LICs): WAM Research Limited (ASX: WAX), WAM Active Limited (ASX: WAA) and WAM Leaders Limited (ASX: WLE). Kate is also a Director of Future Generation Investment Company Limited (ASX: FGX) and Company Secretary of Future Generation Global Investment Company Limited (ASX: FGG).

Kate Thorley has over 10 years’ experience in the funds management industry and more than 16 years of financial accounting and corporate governance experience. Kate holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance, is a fully qualified CPA and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Kate will stand for election by shareholders at the company’s 2016 Annual General Meeting to be held on Wednesday, 23 November 2016. Kate will continue in her role as Company Secretary of WAM Capital.
