WAM Active Appoints Two New Directors

The Board of WAM Active Limited (ASX: WAA) (the ‘Company’) today announces the appointment of Ms Kate Thorley and Mr Chris Stott as non-executive directors.

WAM Active Chairman Geoff Wilson said: “We are delighted to welcome Kate and Chris to the Board. Their combined breadth and depth of expertise will be a major asset to the Company and our shareholders.”

A qualified accountant, Kate is the Chief Executive Officer of Wilson Asset Management and Company Secretary of WAM Active. She is also the Company Secretary of Wilson Asset Management’s other Listed Investment Companies (LICs): WAM Capital Limited (ASX: WAM) and WAM Research Limited (ASX: WAX). Kate holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance.

Chris has over 10 years experience in the funds management industry. As Chief Investment Officer / Portfolio Manager, Chris is responsible for the research, management and construction of the investment portfolios of Wilson Asset Management’s three LICs. He holds a Bachelor of Business and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.

Kate and Chris will offer themselves for election by shareholders at the Company’s 2014 Annual General Meeting to be held in November 2014.
