Board changes & appointment of Managing Director

Board changes

MHM Metals Limited (ASX:MHM) today announced the resignation of Mr Franklyn Brazil effective 6 June 2014 due to Mr Brazil’s other business and overseas travel commitments.

Mr Brazil joined the board in October 2012 at a critical time for the company. As part of the completely new board at that time, his contribution was instrumental in initiating and overseeing the strategic review encompassing a fundamental review of all elements of MHM’s business and activities.

Iain Kirkwood, MHM Chairman said “Lyn contributed selflessly during the radical changes that were being implemented during the restructure and stabilisation of MHM. He was very generous in chairing the board for the period between February and August 2013 notwithstanding the considerable demands on his time. On behalf of all shareholders, the board thanks him for his significant contribution during this momentous period of change.”

As announced on 20 February 2014, a thorough strategic review is well underway of all options available to MHM regarding its Moolap plant, its processing systems, potential future sources of salt slag or other equivalent products and its assets in Kentucky, USA. As part of this review, the future size and appropriate composition of the board will be assessed.

Appointment of Matt Keen as Managing Director

MHM is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Keen, current CEO as Managing Director. Matt joined MHM in September 2013 and accepted the challenge to lead the business out of its stabilisation and re-structuring phase.

Iain Kirkwood said “We look forward to working with Matt as Managing Director to secure MHM’s future following the Alcoa decision in February this year. He has devoted considerable energy to the task and handled the myriad of challenges thrown at him. The company is better for his skills and technical experience.”

Other than the change in role, all other material terms and conditions of Mr Keen’s contract of employment remain unchanged (details of which were previously announced to market on 13 September 2013).
