Further to the announcement on 20 January 2014 and following a structured recruitment process, ERJ is very pleased to announce that Ms Samantha Tough has been appointed as Chair to the Board of Enerji.
Ms Tough is a highly respected professional director and chairperson with considerable executive leadership experience in the energy sector. She is recognised as a highly motivated lateral thinker, bringing composure, sound judgment and natural leadership ability that derive from the depth of her experience in a range of industries. Samantha has a proven track record in working with ambitious companies (small or large) wanting to grow.
Ms Tough has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Jurisprudence (University of Western Australia), is a graduate of the AICD and has completed postgraduate studies in corporate financial analysis through the Australian Institute of Management and the Securities Institute. Other current board positions for Ms Tough include Director of CBH Group, Director of Saracen Mineral Holdings Ltd, Director of WA Academy of Performing Arts, Chair of Aerison Pty Ltd, Director of Strike Resources Ltd and Chairman of RemCo Ltd.
ERJ is expecting a very active year in 2014 in implementing its strategic plan and developing new power projects. A strong and capable Board is a key element of ERJ’s plan. The plan includes strong representation of independent Directors with outstanding records and experience, balance of skills and capabilities, and strong character, ambition and drive.
In addition to the appointment of Ms Tough and the recent appointment of Mr Justin Audcent as a non-executive director, the Board is committed to continuous improvement, accountability, good governance and representing the interests of shareholders in vigorously pursuing Enerji’s strategic growth plan.
The new Directors look forward to presenting themselves to the shareholders at the upcoming AGM.

She has considerable experience in the energy and resources sectors, in business growth, M&A and funding. Selected previous executive roles include General Manager North West Shelf for Woodside Energy, senior VP Strategic Council Natural Resources for Commonwealth Bank, project director for Pilbara Power Project, director of strategy at Hardman Resources Ltd.
