The Manager Company Announcements Office ASX Ltd

Enerji second waste heat power system project: top 200 ASX mining company

Perth-based clean power company Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) has received a purchase order from a top 200 ASX-listed mining company for installation preparation of a waste heat to power system at one of its operating gold mines in the Asia Pacific.

The deal will see Enerji undertake the first stages of design and planning as well as prepare a construction contract for an agreed initial fee.

“The mining company has readily understood the compelling advantages of the Enerji system and we applaud its quest to reduce diesel consumption and CO2 emissions by using our state of the art system. We are delighted to have our first mining customer,” said Enerji CEO Greg Pennefather.”

The mining company would be the first mining company in the world to have a waste heat to power system (WHPS) of this nature. It is estimated the WHPS will save over a million litres of diesel and thousands of tonnes of CO2 each and every year. The economic and environmental benefits are strong and the company considers many other mining sites would benefit from the opex reductions available in off-grid locations.

The contract is the result of a site visit and assessment by Enerji’s personnel, including CEO Greg Pennefather last year and the subsequent proposal and commercial negotiations.

Enerji continues to work on a strong pipeline of potential customers on mine sites and remote town sites.

The mining company has stated its intent to enter into further agreements for WHPS at other mine sites it operates. Enerji expects to conduct site visits at these mines and commence assessment of their power houses in the coming months. This opportunity represents the potential to install a further three Opcon Powerboxes.
