The Manager Company Announcements Office ASX Ltd

Carnarvon Power System Construction Close to Completion

Perth-based clean power company Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) is close to completing construction of its waste heat to power system at Horizon Power’s Carnarvon Power Station.

The hot and cold water piping systems are now fully complete and pressure tested. This includes the insulation on the hot water pipes that will retain most of the heat as the water moves from the heat recovery units to the Opcon Powerbox.

Enerji’s construction team described the mechanical installation as “all but complete” with some minor work on instrument air lines and the drainage system to be finished off in the next two days.

High voltage power is now connected to Enerji’s facilities. This connection will initially allow for the testing of the drives and pumps for the hot and cold water circuits which, in turn, will allow these to be flushed out in preparation for commissioning and operation. This testing and flushing is imminent. Ultimately the connection will be used for exporting power from the Opcon Powerbox to the power station.

The work remaining before commissioning commences is mostly related to instrumentation and controls. All of the necessary equipment is on site with final instrument connections underway. The last control panels are expected to be fitted and connected by the end of next week which will mark the first time the waste heat to power system will be able to capture heat to feed to the Opcon Powerbox.

Opcon engineers are on standby to commence commissioning. Enerji is targeting to have them on site at Carnarvon early next week in preparation for the availability of waste heat to begin commissioning.
