Subject: Reply to clarification sought on news item

Ref : Vodafone Idea Limited (Symbol – IDEA, Scrip code - 532822)

This is with reference to the clarification sought by the stock exchanges about the news item captioned "Vodafone Idea-to MTNL - why-are-telecom-stocks-skyrocketing-", appearing in www.livemint.com dated 26 November 2024.

The said news item relates to decision taken by the Union Cabinet approving a proposal to waive the bank guarantees required to be provided by telecom operators for spectrum purchased in auctions conducted by DoT up to 2022.

In this regard we wish to draw your attention to the filing made by the Company vide its letter dated 8 October 2024 informing the exchanges that it had made detailed representations to the DoT for removal of the bank guarantee requirements for spectrum acquired before 2022 which is also an Industry ask.

We wish to further submit that the Company as yet has not received any communication from DoT / Government of India about any decision taken nor is there any press release available on its website.

As and when a decision is communicated by the DoT or any decision of Government of India through a press release is available, the Company will make the necessary disclosures as required.
