DELAY IN DESPATCH OF COMPOSITE DOCUMENT

The Offeror and the Company refer to the joint announcement dated 16th October, 2000 (the "Announcement") in relation to the conditional cash offers (the "Offers") by Tai Fook Securities Company Limited on behalf of the Offeror for all the issued shares, outstanding warrants and options in the Company (other than those already owned by the Offeror or parties acting in concert with it). The composite document which includes, among other things, the offer document of the Offeror, together with forms of acceptance and transfer, and the response document of the Company (the "Composite Document") will be despatched as soon as practicable and in any event on or before Friday, 17th November, 2000.

The Offeror and the Company refer to the Announcement in relation to the Offers. Unless otherwise stated, terms used in this announcement shall have the same meanings as those defined in the Announcement.

Pursuant to Rule 8.2 of the Code, the Composite Document should be despatched to the shareholders, warrantholders and optionholders of the Company by 6th November, 2000. However, as additional time is required for compiling certain financial information to be contained in the Composite Document, the Composite Document will not be despatched on 6th November, 2000. The Offeror has applied to the Securities and Futures Commission for its consent to an extension of the deadline for despatching the Composite Document. It is expected that the Composite Document will be despatched as soon as practicable and in any event on or before Friday, 17th November, 2000.
