1. Loss per share

The calculation of basic loss per share is based on the net loss
from ordinary activities attributable to shareholders for the six months
ended 30 June 2003 of HK$35,790,000 (2002: HK$41,172,000) and the weighted
average of 3,641,555,700 (2002 : 3,228,148,521) ordinary shares in issue
during the period.

Diluted loss per share for the periods ended 30 June 2003 and 2002 have
not been shown, as the share options and convertible bond outstanding
during these periods had anti-dilutive effects on the basic loss per share
for these periods.



2. Certain comparative amounts have been reclassified to conform with
the current period's presentation
