Rueil Malmaison, 12 June 2018
As leader of a joint venture with Metrostav and Swietelsky Stavební, Eurovia has won the contract to build a 14.7 km section of the D35 motorway, the Czech Republic's east-west corridor, between Časy and Ostrov. Eurovia is the VINCI subsidiary specialising in transport infrastructure and urban development projects.
The works, worth 3.2 billion Czech koruna (€119 million), will be carried out over 56 months, beginning August 2018. They call, in particular, for the construction of 22 engineering structures, including a 451 metre viaduct over the Loučná valley, as well as a bridge that will be turned and pushed over a major railway track near Uhersko station, a first application of this technique in the Czech Republic.
This new contract confirms Eurovia's position as a partner to the Czech Republic's Road and Motorway Directorate, following on from modernising the D1 (four contracts won between 2014 and 2017) and completing new sections on the D8 at the end of 2016, as well as on the D3 and D11 in 2017. The country's motorway network is expected to increase by more than half to reach 2,000 km by 2030, thereby improving mobility in the country.
