Andrew Dougal resigns from the Board

Victrex plc, an innovative world leader in high performance polymer solutions, today announces that Andrew Dougal, a non-executive director and Chair of the Audit Committee, has offered his resignation to the Board and will not seek re-election at the Company's Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday 9 February. Andrew will step down with immediate effect, having served on the Victrex Board since 2015.

Larry Pentz, Chairman of Victrex, said: "On behalf of the Board of Victrex, I would like to thank Andrew for his service and contribution since 2015.

"After consideration by the Board, we have accepted Andrew's resignation, which includes consideration of the time pressures he may face, and Victrex's reputation, given the backdrop of an investigation into the events at Carillion, where Andrew served on the Board.  The overall conclusion is that Andrew stepping down will be in the best interests of our Company."

Larry Pentz, Chairman of Victrex, will assume immediate responsibility for Chairing the Audit Committee and a further update on a search for a new Audit Chair will be provided in due course.
