ASX Announcement

4 June 2019

Vicinity appoints Chief Financial Officer

Vicinity Centres (Vicinity, ASX:VCX) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Nicholas (Nick) Schiffer as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr Schiffer will be a member of Vicinity’s Executive Committee, reporting into the CEO and Managing Director, Mr Grant Kelley, and will commence in the CFO role in September 2019.

Mr Schiffer joins Vicinity from Spark Infrastructure (ASX:SKI), a top 100 ASX listed company by market capitalisation and owner of leading essential service infrastructure businesses, where he has been CFO since July 2017. Prior to this, Mr Schiffer served in the role of Managing Director at Credit Suisse for 17 years, with responsibility for investment banking within the energy, transport and general infrastructure sectors across Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Kelley said: “Following an extensive domestic and international executive search, we are delighted to have secured someone of Nick’s calibre to join our executive team and lead our finance function. Nick’s broad finance, banking and industry advisory experience, together with his background in wholesale funds formation, will be a great complement to, and further strengthen, Vicinity’s executive team capability.

“Nick is a well-credentialed and experienced finance executive, bringing with him more than 20 years of investment banking experience, across a range of industries and geographies, in addition to his recent public company experience at Spark Infrastructure.”

Mr Kelley said Nick’s deep infrastructure knowledge and experience was widely relevant to the property industry and would bring some additional diversity of thought to the leadership team.

“With Nick’s appointment, I am confident that we are building up significant bench-strength in our executive team, which reflects the specialist and diverse capability we have across our organisation,” Mr Kelley said.

Mr Kah Wong, currently Vicinity’s Acting CFO, will return to the role of General Manager, Treasury upon Mr Schiffer’s commencement with Vicinity.

Mr Kelley said: “Together with the Board, I would like to thank Kah for taking on the Acting CFO role, in addition to continuing to head up Vicinity’s Treasury function, whilst an executive search was being undertaken. Kah’s exceptional leadership of the finance function and contribution to the executive team during this period has been invaluable.”
